Everyone who follows Trango knows by now that we are big on our Local Area Network (LAN). Not only is this a super cool feature, we are also very proud of the fact that Trango is the only communication app that provides this capability.

First of all, let’s talk about what LAN actually is?

A LAN is a computer network that interconnects computers within a limited area. May it  be offices, home premises, laboratories, buildings, or university campuses. LAN, users have unrestricted movement within the covered area. Trango’s LAN feature uses your public IP to create a virtual room in which all the devices present on the Local Area Network can communicate, with or without the internet.

Trango enables calls over the user’s Local Area Network if the call participants are on the same network and will use the internet if they are on different networks, further enhancing quality and privacy. In other words, it works with or without the internet.

www.web.trango.io is enabled with both LAN and online functionality. If two peers are on the same network LAN is used, whereas if two peers are on different networks, its an example of an online call.

Hope this blog helped you in your understanding.
